There is a lot of talk about what the right multifocal is and why they have such a wide range of prices. So let's clear things up, starting with who this particular category of glasses is for.

Multifocal glasses are aimed at those diopters who, having both far and near degrees, do not want to switch between two pairs of glasses to see well at all distances. With just one pair of glasses, we achieve super near to far vision. So we have all the advantages that come from this solution. Their only disadvantage is the not so good peripheral vision (that is, the vision when our gaze is focused on the far left or far right parts of the lenses). So the whole evolution of multifocals, and by extension their cost, has to do with expanding the clear field of vision.

POLYESTIC LENS QUALITIES:
A) Digital conventional multifocals: improved digitally in recent years through special software, but based on conventional channel design.
cost ≈170€.
B) Digital Full Backside multifocals: processed digitally through expert software the front and back surface of the lens, and the multifocality (i.e. our progressive grading) is being processed on the back surface. Therefore the clear field of vision left and right is more extended, compared to the previous category.
cost 350€.
C) Digital Double Surface and with Customized focus: In addition to being processed digitally through special software, both the front and back surfaces of the lens are divided and shaped digitally and the multifocus (that is the progressive gradation of our grades) on both surfaces of the lens. This has the effect of further expanding the clear field of vision to the far left or far right parts of the lenses. In addition, depending on our daily needs, we can expand the field even more to a certain distance. If, for example, someone spends many hours in front of a computer screen, we emphasize middle distances, without neglecting far and near vision, and so on.
cost 500€

* Finally, we should note that how wide the field of vision is, depends not only on how advanced the multifocal we chose is, but also on our grades. In fact, the more far away from our near degrees, the less far left and far right clear vision. In short, as our grades grow, and to maintain our enlarged clear vision, we should move to a more sophisticated multifocal option.
